Romantic and Rainy Anacortes Styled Shoot at Wisteria Gardens

Team Work Makes The Dream Work!

This is the largest styled shoot that I have ever been apart of: 11 vendors, 4 models, and 4 photographers. People had been working for months to organize this massive orchestra of creatives to come together to create something beautiful... and it rains...all day.

But that didn't stop us.

We used the beautiful venue to our advantage. Luckily, Wisteria Gardens not only has a beautiful outdoor scene, but a gorgeous garage window that allows natural light into their indoor reception area. We set up an indoor ceremony site, a sweetheart table, dessert table, food table, and the mobile bar. After a few hours of shooting, eating, laughing, collaborating, and encouraging each other, we decided that we couldn't NOT shoot outside at this gorgeous venue.

In the pouring down rain, the whole group went outside to get the shots that we had been dreaming about. If you didn't have a camera in hand, you were holding an umbrella to help cover the models and photographers who were working together in a frantic excitement. We posed the models in front of the car that Molly from Olivia Rose Flower Co had brought in while the other couple stayed inside, and then switched. Once we were done with the car, we moved over to the gorgeous outdoor ceremony site that gives this venue its name: Wisteria Gardens.

Luckily the wisteria was so thick and luscious that the couples were able to be protected by the rain a little bit while we were telling them to pose in every which way.

After we had decided that our cameras (and ourselves) had had enough of the rain, we decided to head back inside and call it a day.

The beautiful thing about styled shoots like these is not just the art that comes of it, but the friendships. You are able to encourage and be encouraged by other artists all day while you are all experimenting and putting yourself out there. You leave feeling fulfilled and excited to support everyone once they start posting.
